Lease extension and purchase of freehold

Although recent legislation is making extending the term of leases and enfranchisement (purchase of the freehold by the leaseholders) easier, the procedures are technical and if not followed to the letter can result in failure, wasted time and costs. The law in this area is continually changing, and expert advice is required, especially if the remaining term of the residential lease is approaching 80 years.
